Divorce Mediation with Maye Mediation LLC

A Thoughtful, Practical Alternative to Litigation

In New York, most divorces proceed on a no-fault basis—citing an irretrievable breakdown of the marriage. Mediation offers a better way forward. Rather than adversarial litigation, it enables both spouses to understand, discuss, negotiate, and craft their own Separation Agreement—the foundation of their divorce filing.

Why Choose Mediation?

  • Efficient and Cost-Effective: Mediation is typically less expensive and significantly faster than contested court proceedings.

  • Respectful and Amicable: The process promotes collaboration, easing the emotional and relational strain—especially if children are involved.

The Mediation Process

  • Voluntary Participation – Mediation requires the mutual consent of both parties—engaging willingly and in good faith.

  • Confidential Discussions – Confidentiality is foundational. All conversations and negotiations remain private, fostering openness and constructive dialogue.

  • Neutral Guidance – The mediator facilitates conversation and balances communication, helping both parties reach durable, practical agreements.

Comprehensive Legal Support

Chenoa Maye, our lead mediator, is also a skilled divorce attorney. After your Separation Agreement is finalized, you may opt to extend services so she can draft and file the full divorce papers (Judgment Roll) with the court.

  • You’ll be informed of any potential conflicts of interest.

  • Necessary acknowledgements and waivers will be reviewed and signed.

  • A limited-scope retainer agreement will formalize the extended filing service.

This service represents one party solely for filing purposes. The mediator remains neutral throughout the entire process.
